■ The Wreck of the Duranda. [Special to Pbesb association.! LISBON, Sept. 82. The steamer Dorunda ran bows on to tbe rocks at the Berlenga Islands, near Peniche. The vessel sustained serious injury, and her forehold was soon fall of water. She was, Lowever, floated off the rocks and beached in a favourable spot, where the cargo is being unloaded, and it is expected that the ship will be saved* LONDON, Sift. 28. The Dorunda's passengers were landed in a French boat barefooted, and only partially dressed, and took succour in a village inn. It is now feared that the vessel will become a total wreck, as her forepart is sabmerged to the engine-room. The passengers baggage, and bullion of the value of £223,000 was landed safely. Tho Dorunda's wool is damaged. It is feared the vessel cannot be saved.

She was insured for £800 in the National and North Queensland offices. NAPIEB, Sbpt. 29. A Scow Ashore. The scow Paris, Captain Arnaud, 70 tons, is ashore at the northern spit of Mohaka river. The scow left Napier for Mohaka last Tuesday, having been in port some weeks awaiting a favourable opportunity to make the passage. The vessel had on board four extra bands, inoluding Captain Hansen. The cargo would have had to be rafted ashore, as the soow was not able to get into the river. It had on board 60,000_toi kauri timber for Glendinning and Griffin's Mohaka bridge contract. At the Geraldine races yesterday, Bosehill, when taking hia preliminary before the Bacing Club Handicap, bolted off the conrse, and in going through the entrance gate one of the legs of his rider, C. Jones, came in contaob with a post and waa fractured below the knee.
