Charitable Aid.

TO THB SDITOB. Sib,—A few weeks ago the Mayor of Christchurch told me that if he called a public meeting and told it all he knew febout the Charitable Aid Board, that body would be swept away in a week. Now is his opportunity,- let him seize it, and I venture to say that the ratepayers of the city will think so highly of bin condoob that they will return him atthe head of ttie poll at the coming elections. If he does not like to address to-night's open-air meeting*, let him attend there, announce his intention and k adjourn the meeting till some future evening, when the theatre can be engaged. The oost would bo readily subscribed if necessary.—l am, &c., • CITIZEN.
