[Special to the " Stab."] j WELLINGTON, August 16. EAR-MARKING OP SHEEP. Mr Ritchie, Secretary of Agriculture, stated to tbe Agricultural and Pastoral Committee that tbe Government had received large numbers of applications for a bonus for the best system of the ear-mark-ing of sbeep, and wished to obtain tbe opinion or a committee on the subject. It was resolved to refer the applications and samples of marks to a sub-committee for report.
