Mutual Improvement. — The Chrißtchurch Wesleyan Mutual Improvement Association held its usual weekly meeting in the Durham Street schoolroom on Friday evening. The chair waa occupied by Mr Ffrost, and there was a numerous attendance of members and visitors. Short lectures were given by Mr K. E. England on "Living in the Shadows of Great Men," by Mr F. Collier on " Ignorance, 1 * and by Mr J. Bosomworth on " Living in Work," and were criticised by members. Songs were given during the evening by Miss Smith and Mr Tregear.— The Linwood Literary Gnild met on Wednesday, and the Eev I. Sarginaon* occupied the chain Mr A. Burrowes road a paper on"Nicholas Niokleby." After some diecuesionthe meeting closed withahesrty vote of thanks to the essayist. 4
