2 A meeting of the Canterbury Metropolitan Trotting Association was held yeater--3 day evening. There was a full attendance 3 of members. Correspondence was read from the Albury Racing Club, explaining B why it held two trotting events at its . recent meeting without first obtaining the approval of the Association, and asking 1 under the circumstances that the disqualification of the owners' horses taking 2 part therein should be removed. It was j resolved, under the circumstances, to re3, move the disqualification. The Chairman's action in advising the Duotroon Racing Club to submit its programme containing trotting events to the Dunedin Jockey Club, under whose jurisdiction the club in question is, was approved. The Canterbury Trotting Club submitted a pro- - gramme for a meeting proposed to be held 3 on May 24, the added money being .£410; also for a Harness Trot of J6275 to be run . in AugUßt next. The balance-sheet of ' the last meeting and list of subscribl ing members accompanied the programme. : i It waa resolved — "That the Canterbury D Trotting Club's programme for May 24, \ 1894, and for an event of £275, to be run 7 in August, 1894, be approved." A letter 1 dated March 21, was read from the New Zealand Trotting Aesooiation, asking whether the Canterbury Trotting Associa--2 tion would approve of a meeting to be held 3 under the auspices of the New Zealand I Association for the purpose of clearing off j its liabilities, amounting to some £60, and 3 any surplus to be given to some charitable objeot. -it was resolved — "That as it is contrary to the rules of the Canterbury ) Metropolitan Trotting Association to ap--3 prove of any trotting programmes other j| than those of duly organised trotting j clubs as set forth in Rule. No. 1, this Association regrets ib could not approve 3 of a programme of the meet'ng proposed [ to be held under the anspices of the New j Zealand Trotting Association."
