• [Special to Pbbss Association.! SYDNEY, Jan. 23. The Joint Stock Bank shows a profit for the half-year of £51,000. A dividend of 5 per cent has been declared, while £22,000 has been placed to the reserve fund, and JBSOOO carried forward. Messrs Lorimer and Borne, the wellknown Bhipping firm whioh was crippled by the systematic embezzlement of one of its confidential employees, the amount appropriated being upwards of £13,000, has decided to aseign its estate .to its creditors. The liabilities have not been made public, the principal creditors being in Great Britain. The wheat yield for the colony is estimated at 7,845,000 bushels, the average yield being 12*6 bushels per acre. Oats will average 24 bushels per acre, and barley 21 bushels, wbile the yield cf pota- i toes is 44 per cent better than it was laßt year. The total yield of potatoes is expected to amount to 75,000 tons, averaging 3*B tons per acre. With the exception of the .blight which is reported in the Northern District, the condition of the crop is good. .'■ -.. ■ -
