News from Brazil states that the rebel admiral, G-ana, repulsed an attack on Concicao Island, the Government losing one Hundred' and twenty killed. THE ARRANGED PRIZEFIGHT. It is reported that the chief of police in Jacksonville, Florida, has sworn in four hundred special constables to assist the State militia if the Governor's orders to the militia to stop the Corbet-Mitchell fight are disobeyed. RUSSIA AND GREECE, ATHENS, Jan. 20. It is believed that Russia will rent Paros permanently, and fortify the island. THE PAMIRS. ST PETERSBURG, Jan. 20. An Anglo-Russia Convention relative to the Pamirs is virtually arranged.
ME PEEL'S PAPER. SYDNEY, Jan. 21. With regard to Mr Peel'B paper on New South Wales finances, Sic G. R. Dibbß says the explanation of peculiar subjects was a moßt delicate one, dealing as it did with the credit of the colony; and yet the writer was allowed to publish it as a State paper. Sir G. E. Dibbs deolares that be ia aware of two others at least beside himself who received copies. The Premier considers that it is just as well that the paper has been repudiated, though he considers it strange that it should have been allowed to have been published under the auspices of the Imperial Government.
