♦ [Special to the " Star."] WELLINGTON, Dec. 4. The Times in ft temperate article this morning admits that there iB a coming division in the Liberal party, and says that it will in time resolve itßelf into Radicals who want to move fast and Liberals who would go more slowly, thus breaking the party into two. The Premier has received a number of messages from members who have been included in the temperance lists as likely to vote againßt the Government disclaiming any intention of the sort. Basing a calculation on these messages and the declared intentions of members as shown in their election speeches the Premier, who
was interviewed on the subject to-day, said that as far as he could make out there were twenty- three direct vetoists in the new Parliament, of whom five were absolute prohibitionists, who would vote for it before anything else. There were, of course, a number of other members who favoured the temperance party, but they were all in favour of giving the Alcoholic Liquors Bill a trial,
