The Standard? 8 Paris correspondent says that Lord Dufferin and M Deville have signed a protocol settling the differences over the Siamese boundaries and arranging for a neutral zone. Lord Dufferin returns to England to-morrow. The Daily News correspondent al Bangkok says Admiral Hermann has issued orders for a fresh blockade, auc ordered H.M.S. Pallas and Swift t( withdraw. It is feared that th< French intend to attack Bangkok anc hold it as a guarantee. Sir E. Grey when questioned in the House oj Commons, said that Government hac not received any confirmation of th< report. The blockade had beei raised, but he declined to enter inti details. Paris papers confirm the statemen in the Standard as to the settlement but the Bangkok correspondent o: the Times, telegraphs that it is fearec that the French Admiral is acting on divergent orders. PARIS, August 1. It ia officially stated that Siam ha agreed to give the guarantees de manded by France. Admiral Hermann is demanding
the cession of the port of Chantabun, as a guarantee. Much alarm is said to be felt in Bangkok in consequence
