=== • I Eahk Fish.— The Wanganui Chronicle i reports :— A rare fish haa been stranded on 1 the beach at Waikanao. It wa3 secured 1 by Mr J. A. Field, who forwarded it to Mr ] Drew to be added to his valuable col- ' lection. It is the Pacific species of tunny, 1 and is about four feet three inches long, ( weighing nearly a hundredweight. Its i colour on the back is deep steel blue, on 1 the belly it is silvery. The finlete, of i which there are nineteen, are bright < yellow. This fish is represented in the ( Canterbury Mueeum by only a skull which 1 was found many years ago near the same j place. Mr Drew has also received a largo t specimen of Hippocampus abdominalia, 1 commonly known as the sea-horse. Thia c tiah was caught in a net at the mcuth of 1 the Turakina river by Mr Thomas Eley. t It is most unusual to find the sea-horse ia g shallow waterß. It is occasionally brought t up from the lower depths of the sea on v anchor chains. " Arab" and "Shall" Brand Teaa, from all grocer.* *nd storekeepers.
