♦ UNITED METHODIST FREE CHUBCH. The district meeting resumed its Bitting! at Eangiora, at 9 a.m., on Saturday. The Chairman of the District openec the meeting with prayer and praise. DIBTBICT BOOK COMMUTES. The report of the District Book Com mitteo wa3 adopted. A BEQUEST. A telegram was sent to the Primitiv< Methodist Conference, no? sitting ii Christcburch, anent its action in appoint ing a minister at Weatport. A deputation, consisting of the Rev E. 0 Penny and Mr Flesher, was appointed t< wait upon the Primitive Methodist brethrei to induce them to re-consider their action I EXAMINATIONS. j The report of the Examining Committee was then received and adopted. It wai found that the Keys J. Benning and J, Saunders had passed their examinations satisfactorily, and they were advanced one year in their probation. The examiners were thanked for theii services, and were appointed for anothei year. The Eev E. O. Penny was also appointed an examiner. It was decided to conduct the examinations at the end of each four months of the year. The supervisors of the examinations were then thanked for their services during the past year. The examiners were asked to fix the timo for the examinations at the beginning of tho year. MISCELLANEOUS. The question of ministerial character was considered with closed doors. The Auckland circuit was then considered at some length. The session was closed by singing and prayer.
