THE PRIMITIVE METHODIST CONFERENCE.
At the evening session, which was open to the public, several members of other churches attended. j The Fire Insurance Committee's report was adopted. It showed that thirty-four church properties and two ministers' libraries were insured. j The Sunday school report was read, and ' the following statistics were given: — ' Schools 52, increase 6; teachers 457, in- ] crease 21; scholars 3883, increase 329; ! average attendance 2601, increase 374. ( The District Sunday School Committee ' reportsd that examinations of the scholars j had taken place during the year, and had i been very satisfactory. I Tho place of meeting for the next Con- j ference was fixed at Ashburton. j The Stationing Committee presented the first draft of stations, which was as follows :—New Plymouth, Eevs John Nixon and G. Carr; Wellington, Revs Charles E. Ward, G. Grindley, J. Dumbell and W. J. Dean; Auckland 1., Revs James Guy, Henry Williams and J. Long; Invercar- i gill, Rev Joseph Sharp; Bluff, Rev ! Thomas H. Lyon; Timaru, R9V William C. I Woodward; Greendale, Rev George Clement; Christchurch, Rev John Dawson ; Ashburton, Ray James Cocker; Manawatu, Roy Walter Harris and one to be sent; Gi3raldine,Rev William Woollass; Dunedin, Rev Peter W. Jones and one to be obtained; Auckland 11., Rev William S. Potter; Oaniaru and Waimate, one to be obtained; South Invercargill, Rev Frederick W. Boya; Foxton, Rev Robert Raine; Stratford, Rev James Clover; Denniston, Eev William Laycock; Westport, Rev William C. Wood.
