— —. — » [SfECIAJ. TO. J-.EBB ASSOCIATION.] LONDON. Dec. 17. The butter which has been received here from Melbourne and Sjdney lately is of excellent quality, and much has been sold at from £5 12s to £5 15s. Some of that forwarded by the Victorian Government brought ,£5 l_s and other Melbourne consignments -64 15s. The wheat by the Cambrian Monarch brought 36s 9<3, August shipment 38s 2d. An Australian December to January shipment has been already disposed of at 37a 3d. The Agents-General decline to interview the Premier about the Vancouver mail service until they have been instructed by their respective Governments. An impression j prevails that if the promoters could I induce New Zealand to support this
line instead of the San Francisco service, the rest of the subsidy would be easily obtainable.
