SAD ACCIDENT.

• Jus t before noon to-day, a sad accident happened to a thirteen-year-old son of Peter Enlund, oilskin maker of Lyttelton. The boy waß on No. 7 Wharf, and attempted to get on to a railway truck while in motion. He missed his footing, and fell on to the rails, when the wheel of the truck passed over him. His right leg, body, and right arm were very badly crushed, and the little sufferer was at once conveyed to the casual ward, where Drs Pairman and Guthrie were soon in attendance. At the time of writing, the poor boy was unconscious.
