Major Bartellot's father demands that Parliament should institute an enquiry into the charges brought against his son by Mr Stanley and the other members of the expedition. Mr J. -B. Troup, who also was a member of the rear guard, avows that Bartellot was terribly cruel ; but his version of the cannibal feast -completely explodes Mr Bonny's. Extradition Refused' The British authorities have declined to grant an. extradition warrant against Castione, who was arrested for the murder of Councillor Rossi during the revolt in Ticino. Evictions in Ireland. Sixteen tenants and their families have been evicted from the Oliphant ■estate. The evictors were protected by a strong force of military. Dr Koch's Cure.
