SSNathan's furnishing warehouse was burned out, and almost wholly destroyed, last night. The damage is _£50,G00. It is insured in the New Zealand Office for .£12,000. The re-insurances are unknown. . [Pee Pbess Association.] WOODVILLE, Feb. 26. A sawmill and flourmill and seven stacks of oats were destroyed by fire on Gaisford's Oringi Station. It is supposed that the fire originated from a spark from an engine. The insurances are unknown. NELSON, Feb. 26. The residence of Mr Ernest Siggelkow, Waimea East, was destroyed by fire this morning. The insurances were": — On the house, -2200 in the Colonial ; on the furniture, £150 in the Norwich Union. INVERCARGILL, Feb. 23. A fire occurred at the waterworks at four o'clock thia morning. It broke out in the storeroom of the engine house, a large brick building. The Brigade succeeded in extinguishing it before any serious damage was done. The roof was burnt and the storeroom gutted, but the valuable machinery was only scorched. The damage is about _3200. There was no insurance. No _toppage occurred in pumping up the town supply. The Corporation had had a night watchman on the premises, but retrenched him a month ago. It is believed that the fire was caused by the spontaneous combustion of cotton waste.
