SANDER & SONS' EUCALYPTI EXTBACT.Under the distinguished patronage of His Majesty the King of Italy, as per communication made by the Minuter for Foreign Affairs, through the Consul-General for Italy at Melbourne, March 14, 1878. Awarded Diploma at the Amsterdam Exhibition, 1883, Acknowledged by Medical Clinics and Universities all over the globe. There are imitations of Encalypti .Extract in the market, products of simple distillation, forming crude resinous oils. In order that those crude oils may not be taken for onr Pure Volatile Enoalypti Extract, which is recognised by the medical division of the Prussian Government to be of perfectly pure origin, as per information forwarded to us thr«ngh the Consul at Melbourne, March 2, 1878, we state:— It Is proved by tests made by the Medical Clinios of the Universities at Bonn and Greifswald (Prussia), and reported by Dr bhulz, Professor of Pharmacology at Bonn, and Professor Dr Mosler, Director of the Medical Clinio at Greifswald, that only products that are saturated with oxygen and free of acids, resinous and other substances, adherent to primnry distillation, will develop tho sanative qualities proper to the plant. All crude oil. or eo-calied Eucalypti Extracts are to be classed according to the named authorities among the turpentines which aro of insignificant medicinal value, and abandoned long since as en internal medicament. These crude oils, or co-called Eucalypti Extracts, are discernible— 1. By their deficiency in pungent odour (which . onr product, the only genuine Eucalypti Ez- ' tract, develops most freely through its surplus of oxygen). S. By their alcoholio, thin, and mobile appearance being reduced in specific density through the presence of acids. 8. By their taste, the result of tho contracting tendency of resins ami tanats. If these crude oil*, cr eo-cilled Eucalypti Ex. tracts, are applied by mistake in cases of oroup, bronchitis, diphtheria, internal inflammations, dysentery, kc., the consequences are mo3G appallixtgr.
