WELLINGTON RACING CLUB.

WELLINGTON, Sept. 20. Parliament is prorogued by Gazette proclamation to Dec. 19. The Hinemoa leaves for Chatham Islands to-night, taking four or five members o£ the Permanent Force, who will act as extra police, and enforce collection of the dog tax. The Harbour Board has had a valuation of their properties made, showing a total of £56,581, which is considerably under that of the city valuer. This does not include the wharves. The Wellington Racing Club has decided to rednce its meetings to five days during the year, two in spring and summer, and one in winter. The Spring Meeting will be held in the same week as the Show.
