The Governor at Auckland.
» <a[Per Pbess Association.] AUCKLAND, Jan. 3. A farewell address from the citizens of Auckland was presented to Hi 3 Excellency the Governor at the Art Gallery by his Worship the Hayox to-night.. There /was a large and representative attendance. The address expressed a high sense of the manner in which Sir W. Jervois had discharged the duties of his office, and the important services he had rendered the Colony, and regretted pxe early departure of Hia Excellency and Lady Jervois. Sir W. Jervois, in reply, said that he and his family left New Zealand with most heartfelt regret, and that he might say not only because of the manner in which he had been so heartily received, but because he believed that, taking all circumstances into consideration, there was not a finer Colony on the face of the earth than thi3 j Colony of New Zealand. He also referred i to Wb successor as exactly the man they would like to have as Governor. = ■ I
