TRAINING NOTES.

«. Tliis Morning's Work. Eiccarton, Thursday. A sharp fro3t was followed by genial fcunahine at Eiccarton this morning, and tho late arrivals had something like a pleasant temperature in which to perform their work. Cutts, however, was abroad before daylight, and sent Lorraine a good working gallop of about three miles, the colt moving well and subsequently walking sound. Nelson and Torrent covered a similar distance at three-quarter speed, but neither appeared to be going quite at his ease, and after being rubbed down, Nelson walked very lame. Fair Nell, Bronte and Cruchfield were taken along fast for a mile and a half. Cruchfield galloped very sluggishly, and Bronte finished better than tho mare, who. looks light. Eed Ensign and Teredo did a fast round in company, tho first-named moving very freely. Sextant, Hermitage, and Gipsy King made a couple of rounds at a moderate pace, and Isaac and Eose and Black cantered a mile and a half in company, the steeplechaser keeping on for another round. Water Queen went three miles easy, and Mont dOr did slow work on the plough. Tb.9 two-year-olds Carbine, Vandal, Manton, Moonray, iTet d'Eau, and Chain Shot were exercised, and Moana, after cantering a mile, was sent once round the tan fast. Credulity strode along in capital 6tyle over a mile and a half, and Leon was sweated. Artillery and Tit Bit went twice round at half-pace, and Sultan, still very lame, performed similar work. Archduke, Irish King, and Arcade got through usefnl work, and Mainboom did slow weik onthe plough.- Buby, the Wave

gelding, and Vaultress went through their. ; nsual routine, and other horses did unim- j portant work. i
