Special Auction. — A special auction eale of flannels and boots is announced by Messrs H. J. Eoss and Co. for to-morrow.
Milton Cricket Clttb. — All members of the Milton Cricket Club, Sydenham, are requested to attend a meeting to be held in the Club Hotel, Sydenham, on Wednesday evening, Oct. 3, at half-past 7 o'clock. Litbraby Association. — In connection with the St Paul's Church Literary Association, there will be a tea and entertainment at 6 o'clock to-morrow evening. Auction Sai.es. — Special auction sales are announced by Mr Ayers in this issue. Woeking Men's Cixtb. — At 8 o'clock to-morrow (Thursday) evening a dramatic entertainment will be given in the hall of the Working Men's Club.
A Peculiab Bird. — Mr A. "Watson, of Tuam street, caught on Saturday, along with some goldfinches, a bird which is a distinct mule between greenfinch and goldfinch. It has the head markings of the goldfinch, and body and part of the wings are distinctly typical of the greenfinch. Fanciers have taken considerable interest in the bird, and to the most experienced of them, Mr W. Muschamp included, this description of mule has hitherto been unheard of.
