BURNING OF THE DARFIELD RAILWAY STATION.
*, About half-paßt two o'clock this morning the Railway Station at Darfield Junction was destroyed by fire. Nothing but the cash in the office was saved, and the cause of the fire is at present unknown. The building destroyed was used also as a Post and Telegraph Office, and •was, it is stated, uninsured. The goods3hed escaped uninjured. Mr Garstin, the Railway Traffic Manager went to Darfield this morning to make enquiries into the occurrence. Darfield is the station where the Springfield and Whitecliffs lines diverge. _____________
