Kaiapoi.

A meeting of Mr Moore's Committee waa held last evening at Kaiapoi, and was largely attended. Returns were handed in from the surrounding districts, which were considered satisfactory. Yesterday afternoon the Hon E. Richardson addressed his Maori constituents at the Eunanga House, St Stephen's, Kaiapoi, the Eev J. W. Stack kindly acting as interpreter. The chair was taken by the Eev Q. P. Mutu, who introduced Mr Richardson to the assembled Natives; asking them to listen patiently to what he had to say to them. At the conclusion of the address, which was well received, a vote of thanks and confidence, proposed by Mr Taituah, and seconded by Mr G. Patterson, was carried unanimously. A vote of thanks to the Chairman and the Rev. J. W. Stack terminated the meeting.
