LONDON, Anacsr 25. Consols remain at 101^ . New Zealand inscribed stock is unchanged at 99f . The Bank of England returns show a total reserve of notes and bullion of .£11,856,000, an increase of .£300,000 daring the week. The proportion of reserve to liabilities has advanced from 41 to 42 per cent. The Bank rate of discount remains at 3 per cent, and the market rate at 2| per cent. There are no changes to report in Colonial breadstuff s or tallow.

The Imperial Institute. m , LONDON, Atjgust 85. The sum of .£20,000 has been forwarded from Canada in aid of the Imperial Institute. The Mail Rates. Germany has lowered the postage on Australian letters forwarded by the German- Colonial line of mail steamers to 20 pfennige (about 2|d.) Wool.
