Lincoln.— On Wednesday evening last an entertainment in aid of the funds of the Star of Anglesea Lodge, A.0.D., took plaue in the Town Hall, Lincoln, and proved in every way an unqualified success. The evening being fine, tho attendance was large, and the members of the Lodge preEent were assiduous in their efforts to promote the comfort of their visitors. A capital concert was gone through without j a hitch, the performers in which were ! flTesdames Fowler, O'Callaghan, and PresI ton, Misses Brake and Gabites, the Eev A. B. D. Tosswill, Dr Cooke, and Messrs Buckley, Crocket, Gabite3, Howell, M'tfae, Palmer, and Eeade. The conceit over, a i ball followed, when the large hall was taxed to its utmost capacity, nearly 100 couples taking part in the dancing, which wa3:kept up with great spirit till five o'clock iv the morning. The musical arrangements for the evening, having been entrusted to Professor Gillies, left nothing j to be desired, and altogether the members > of the Lodge arc to be congratulated upon ' the complete success that has crowned i their efforts, while from a financial point of j view ifc is satisfactory to kvovr that the re- • suits have been fully up to expectations, j and that tho funds will be largely benefited I theroby.
