During the past week, the Ron E. Richardson has had three very largely attended Committee meetings in the centres of Kaiapoi, Kangiora, and Woodend, where the feeling was generally expressed that the result of the coming elec! tion would bs entirely in favour of the Government. All the Committees are working with the utmost energy.

MARTON, August 27.
Mr Bruce addressed a crowded meeting last night. He declared against the Government, and advocated free trade and retrenchment. He received a vote of confidence by an overwhelming majority.
