Verdict for the Plaintiff.

BLENHEIM, August 2t. The case of Alice Wilson, formerly a barmaid at the |Club Hotel, v. Harley, an action for .£2OO damages for alleged slander, resulted in a verdict for the plaintiff lor £15, with costs on the lowest scale. A new trial is to be applied for, on the grounds that the verdict is againat the weight of evidence, and that the damage* are excessive.
