An Adjourned Inquest.

[Per Prims Association.? NEW PLYMOUTH, August 26. At theinquesthi3ldonthebody of Ironside, the fireman, who waa killed near Inglewood yesterday afternoon, Stephen Eon Adamson said the deceased foil off the engine, and was not knocked! off by coming in contact with the bridge. From particulars gathered, it now seems deceased was look.ing under the truck next the engine at the time of the accident, to learn the cause of a sound which indicated something wrong with the brake of the truck. To perform this he stooped down on the step leading to the engine, grasping the iron rail on either side of him, and bent down to look under the truck. While thus engaged the accident occurred, although the diver could not say how it happened. The inquest was adjourned till Saturday.
