Projected Museum of Products. In connection with a letter written by Mr Avigdor, suggesting the establishment in London of a museum illustrating the natural and other products of the Midland Eailway country, it ie stated that the subject has been taken up very warmly by the General Manager of the Company and the Board of | Advice both here and in Nelson, who are determined that no effort shall be wanting to make the collection as representative as possible of all articles contained in or capable of being produced in these districts. Already specimens of marble, antimony, &c, from various parts of the West Coast have arrived, and no doubt before long the Company will be in a position to make a first shipment to London. We see also from our Nelson exchanges that in that district the matter is receiving the attention which it de6erves. ' The Nelson Evening Mail of March 14 contains a letter from Messrs Fell and Sclanderß, explanatory of Mr Avigdor's suggestion, and recommending the scheme as what they happily term " a cheap and excellent means of advertising ourselves and our wares." Oar contemporary, in a leading article on the following day, exhorts its readers to render every assistance in their power in the way of providing specimens, &c, and anticipates that the best results will be derived from placing before the English capitalist evidences of the vast mineral wealth of this Colony. It proceeds to advocate that in addition to the specimens of minerals, timber, &c, the products of the farms and hop gardens of the settled districts, should also find a place in the museum. We are requested to Btate that any specimens illustrative of the agricultural, pastoral, or mineral industries of the Colony will be gladly received at the Company's Office here for transmission to London. It will greatly assist in the classification of the various specimens, if all articles forwarded are accompanied with the name of the contributor, and some brief particulars of the district where the article is found, the quantities procurable, &c. The specimens should, when practicable, be forwarded in duplicate.
