Destruction of Annandale, Pigeon Bay.

EFFECTS OF A LANDSLIP. There has been incessant rain since Sunday night, and no prospect of clearing, with violent and gusty easterly wind, and landslips in every direction. The Sergefeat concluded, therefore, that no good could be done by sending men to the scene of the dioaster, especially as it was still raining hearily on the Peninsula at 8 o clock last night, and the roads were impassable, except by horse, at great risk. Akaroa was all flooded, and it was feared great damage woald occur before aaorning. The road on the hillside, in some places, has gone bodiiy. A slip in Sfobrason's Bay yesterday prevented the passage of the coach. Some buildings in exposed positions were blown over. Much feaemg has been carried away. The roads will, be impassable, perhaps for a week. . The ewes and lambs are dying; and cattle starvsog.
