Fires.

[Per Pbess Association.] AUCKLAND, August 18. A fire- broke out in Winstone's buildings, j Symonds street, ?n the work room above [ Abbott's draper shop. The fire apparently I originated in the ashes in an ash box at I Abbott's. In suppressing the fire great j damage was done by the water to Abbott's i stock, which is insured for J2600 in the j Union and in the Norwich. The ■ Union loss by the fire is only a few pounds.
