Charge of Embezzlement.
AEREST IN SYDNEY. £Peb Pbbsb Association.} THAMES, Augost 19. George Har court, legal manager of several mining Companies, and DeputyAssignee in Bankruptcy, left the Thames somewhat abruptly on August 10, and suspicions being aioused that he had left Auckland by the Eotomnhana for Sydney, a warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of embezzling .£75 of the funds of the funds of the New Eureka Goldmining Company. The police have received acablegrain stating that he has been; arrested by the Sydney police, and reminded to August 25. Detective Doolan will proceed to bring accused back to theThames. Harcourt's books are said to bein a most unsatisfactory state.
