New Zealand Shipping Company (Limited.)
I An extraordinary general meeting of the New Zealand Shipping Company, Limited, ■ was held to-day at noon. Mr J. L. Coster . Chairman of Directors, presided, and the following other Directors were present : — Messrs H. P. Murray-Aynsley, A. 0. Wilson, L. Harper, and John Anderson. Mr G. Harper attended as the Company's , solicitor. The business was purely formal, and consisted in the carrying 1 of a resolution confirming that passed at the extraordinary general meeting held on Dec. , 10. This was moved by the Chairman, and ' seconded \ij Mr H. P. Murray-Aynsley. After the meeting had closed, Mr Coster , announced that he took this opportunity of . intimating to the shareholders that the Directorshad decided upon making two small calls— one of 10s a share, payable on Dec. 31, and the other of 10s a share payable later on. The Directors considered that though the Company was in a very prosperous state, the magnitude of the . business rendered it expedient that the ! Company should be strengthened in this direction.
