RANGIORA. The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Committee was held on Wednesday evening ; present — Messrs A. H. Cunningham (Chairman), W. Mccci:, S. Stephens, C. King, and T. Smith. An apology for the absence of Mr Boyd was read. The Chairman reported that in consequence of . diphtheria having broken out in Mr Goodeve's family, the duties of Head > Master were being discharged by Mr Wilson, formerly of the Riccarton school. He also stated that Mr Goodeve had re- ; ceived from the Inspector a list showing : the passes at the recent examinations to have been from 75 to 80 per cent. Mr Smith introduced the question of the curtailment of holidays, but the Committee declined to make any alteration. A letter from Mr Boyd was read, advising the discontinuance of awarding prizes. After some discussion, it was decided to give prizes as usual, and to ask the Revs J. Parkin and T. Hodgson to examine the school for the same.
