+ [Special to the " Stab."] DUNEDIN, Sept. 3. The news of Sir Modred's Metropolitan victory was received with great rejoicing by the sporting folk here. It is thought that Messrs Proudfoot and Pritchard, late of Dunedin, will have won largely in •wagers. Mr Allsopp trained the Dunedin Cup winner of 1881 in Australia.
