On Monday, Fob. 26, to leave Tiraaru in tho morning for Oamaru. On Tuesday, Feb. 27, to leave Oamaru in the afternoon for Danedin. On Monday, Maroh • 5, to leave Danedin for InTercargill by rail. On Thuraday, Maroh 8, to leave Invercargill For Queenstown. On Tueflday f March 13, to leave Queenatown for Dunedin. The Governor will hold lovees at Ohristohuroh and Danedin soon after his arrival at each place. greeted with a Maori welcome. One of the leading chiefs pointed out the boundaries of the town, and the survey is proceeduig, with natives aoting as chainmen. The depth of water on the bar is 18ft, and at the township it is registered at four fathoms. The Hons J. Bryoe and W. Bolleston, accompanied by Mrs and Miss Bolleßton, rode through from Xawhia to Alexandria.
WELLINGTON, Feb. 6. The 'Frisco Mail.
The Wanaka, with the 'Frisco mail, left New Plymouth at 9.30 this morning. She will arrive here early to-morrow. The Penguin takes the Bouthern portion, leaving for Lyttelton at noon.
FIELDING, Fbb. 6. Alleged Attempted Murder. Mr Jones, of the firm oj Palmer and Jonei, attempted to shoot Mr J. B. Hoots this morning. Boots escaped unhurt by running away zizzag, to dodge the shots. The wouldbe murderer is supposed to be insane, lne parties concerned have gone to Palmeraton to obtain a warrant to arrest Jones.
DUNBDIN, Fbb. 6.
Dunedin Training Notes. Monday morning being wet, it was expected that a good many horses would work at Forbury this morning. The weather, however, turned oat cold, and only a few horses stripped. Idalium and Adamant had three rounds on the tan, two at a smart pace. Both went well, Adamant finishing first. Misb King filly had about a three and a-half miles' spin alone. Kean's lot and Somnus were on the ground, but did no work worth mentioning.
