ADELAIDE WHEAT CROP.
'Ihe following aocount of the Adelaide crops is from a gentleman in a position to form a reliable opinion : — " Tho crops have boen motfc irregular thi» sca-:on. Somo dietricts have not returned soed, and others havo yielded a good average. The best authorities agree that the surplus for export will reach 100,000 to 120,000 tons. The present high prices aro due to heavy orders in course of execution for Africa, and the groat baroness of the market 'at the beginning of harvest, through tho ovor export of last season. Thoro is small demand from New South Wale* jußt now, and it is probable tha*. the wants of that Colony will bo drawn from tho nearer market, Victoria. As the African market is drawing heavily on Valparaiso and 'Frisco, the demand from that quater should soon cease. JNo shipments of moment are contemplated in Kurope, and in tlio natural order of things a oharp decline in tho prioo of wheat should take piece. Against this farmers aro in a position to hold, aivt keep tho market bare, which there is a st rong indication of thoir doing. The probability, therefore, is that a dull, dragging trade will mark tho season without material alteration from presort values of wheat — 6s Id to 5s ad, f.0.b."
