A proclamation in the Gazette gives the following dates for the sittings of the Supreme Court in Canterbury district :— Sittings for trial of criminal cases will be 3 held afc the Courthoußß, Ohriatchuroh, to commence on the following dayß at 11 a.m. : Wednesday, Jan. 17 ; Monday, April 2 ; Monday, July 2 ; Monday, Oct. 1. Sittings for trial of cfvii ft9tiocß will be held at the Courthouse, OhrUtchurdh, to COmnttnOßPH the following days at 11 a.m. t Monday, Jan. 22 » Monday, April 9 1 Monday, June 18; Monday, July 16 ; Monday, Auguefc 13 ; Monday, Sept. 11, and Monday, Oct. 15. The trial of causes ■ under the " Divorce and Matrimonial. Causes Act, 1857," may take place at any of above* mentioned sittings for trial of civil actions. Sittings of the Court in Banco and Bankruptcy will be held at the Courthouse, Ohristchuroh, every Wednesday, except during the vacation or during the absence of the Judge, or if the Judge is engaged on other business sittings in Chambers will be held at the Judga's chambers in the Courthouse, Christchurch, every Tuesday and Friday. Bittings in Chambers at other times and in v&cationin respect of urgent business may be held at suoh times and placos as may suit the con*, venienco of the Judge. The following appointments are gazetted : — Andrew Boby Bloxam to be Registrar; William Henry Eyes, jun., to be DeputyRegistrar ; George Alfred King to be Clerk, and John Brough Stansell to be Crier.
