A Suspected Murder.

A rumor is current at To Awamutu that Georgo Savago, Mr Tola's servant, supposed to have been accidentally drowned on Nov. 6, was murdered by a Native named Pukokora. It uppoars that a Native named Maniopoto stated in tho hotel at Kilukilu on Nov. 19, to a lad naaed Benjamin Ward, that Pukekora hud killed Bavage, and thrown him into the rivor. The statement reached the ears of Constable Gillies (the man who arranged Wiuiata's wrest, and captured Fakaraand Kpiba), and he bron^ht Ward and Maniopoto together, when the latter
denied all knowledge of the matter. Pukekora is now in the Native country. The police believe that the story deserves oredence. '".. . . „ The ' priaes 'distributed at the Devenport Begatta amounted to £320.
