SUNDAY SOHOOL TREAT.
The children attending the Sabbath Sohool of the Malvern Episcopal Church were given a treat by their teachers on Tuesday last. It had been planned for Monday, but the unpropitious weather necessitated its being postponed to the following day. At noon, the scholars, about 50 in number, assembled at the Church — and were conveyed acroßß the River Hawkins by Mr Taylor to Rocombe, the residence of Mr Roßsiter, that gentleman having kindly placed his lawn at their disposal. Athletic sports, racing, jumping, Ac., were the order of the day, and quite a quantity of toys, domestic instruments of torture, such as whistles, squeaks, &c, w*re distributed as prizes ; which, with an [unlimited supply of a variety of refreshments, conduced to make adults as well as children happy for tho nonce. At the conclusion, Mr Fleming called for votes of thanks, which were given very heartily to the Mesdames Meadows and Rossiter, for their successful efforts as chefs de cuisine, and to Mr Rosßiter, their host.
