The ironwork of the Waikato bridge is at Ngaruawahia, and will be landed from the City of Auckland ship, shortly, it weighs 133 tons. The Swedish ship Condoren, 1067 tons, Captain Neiglieh, from Sydney to San Francisco with 1600 tons of coal, has put in here dismasted. The captain reports that he left Sydney on Sept. 15, encountered a N.W. gale on Sept. 21, in latitude 35 deg 40 mm, longitude 167 deg 30 mm E. On Sept. 22, at 9 o'clock in the morning, while the ship was hove-to, cut the main top-gallant mast away, and soon after, all the masts came . down on the deck, leaving only the lower part of the foremast standing. The third mate, who was aloft at the time, came down with the wreck and yet marvellously escaped injury. The captain was slightly injured. Bagged jurymasts, and came to Auckland for repairs.
