NOMINATION FOR CHRISTCHURCH WEST.
♦ The nomination of candidates for the seat in the General Assembly for Chrißtchurch west took place this day at noon, at the City Council Chambers. The Returning Officer (Dr Donald) presided. Mr Wynn Williams was proposed by Mr C. C^abk, and seconded by Mr J I. Merson. Mr E. Richardson was proposed by Mr J. Anderson, and seconded by Mr W. Pratt. ' The show of -hands was declared by the Returning Officer to be— for Williams, 50 ; Richardson, 30. A poll was demanded on behalf of Mr Richardson, which will take place on this day week, commencing at 9 a.m. and closing at 4p m. The result to be declared at 430 p.m. the same day.
