Mr Hawkes explained that Mr Lane had withdrawn in favour of Mr Inglis. No other candidate being proposed, the Returning Officer declared Mr Inglis duly elected. On the motion of Mr Inglis, seconded by Mr W. Wilson, a rote of thanks was passed to the Returning Officer, and the proceedings terminated.
