HEATHCOTE REGATTA.
The fine weather could scarcely fail to attract a large number of pleasure seekers to the Heath, ote, aud the gathering has been ut tended with an increased success. The railway trains and conveyances running from Christchurch were, up to noon, densely crowded, and a large number of -pdrsoins also left in private traps and on horseback. Tbe
visitors from the outlying districts: were morel numerous than we have noticed at any previous regatta, which evinces a very satisfac-l tory increase of interest in the I gathering. ! From the late hour at which the first race ; started, 1 pm , we are unable to give the result of any of the events in to-day's publi cation.
