— — ♦ - The Star Office, This Day. The land sales to-day amounted to 20 acres in the Waipara district. ?SNf essrs Wilson and Alport had a fair supply of cattle, at market on Saturday ,; and sold them at satisfactory rates : — 2 year old very prime steers brought £8 12s 6d per head; ditto, good quality ditto, £6 17s 6d and £7; choice heifers, £9 55.; fair quality ditto, £7 155.; good dairy cows, £9 10s. ; 3 fat cows sold at each £10, £10 15s, and £13. Preece's Sale Yards were on Saturday well supplied with geese and other poultry, pork and sucking pigs, &c. There was a large attendance ; the buyers were principally from Christchurch and Lyttelton. The prices obtained were as follows :— Large cock turkeys,, Us to 14s ; hen, do, 5s 6d to 7s 6d; heavy geese, 5s to 65.; small do, 3s 6d to 4s 6d ; ducks, 3s to 4s 9d ; fowls, 3s to 4s 6d; pigs, large porkers, 26s to 37s ; medium sized, 18s to 26s ; small, 10s to 15s ; suckers, 3s to 9s. .
