RtfLES. 1. In all races boats to be started abreast, 2. Three boats to start or no race except m Consolation race (when if only two boats-' start there will he no second prize), orut other races hy special permission of the Stewards. 3. Each boat must during the race carry »• distinguishing flag, 12 inches square, in.pulling boats at the bow, in sailing boats atthe peak, to be described on entering. 4. The names of the crews for each raeemust be declared at time of entrance. 5. Crews must pull in shirts and cap o£ uniform colour to be named on entering. 6. In all races red buoys and flag boats to be passed on th« port hand, and white buoys on the starboard. 7. No boat shall take the water of another: * unless leading by a clear length. 8. All prizes to be paid or handed to tke parties entering boats. 9. Protests mast be handed to the Seere tary, or a Steward, in writing, within oat hour after any race in which a dispute m*y arise. 10. Any boat or crew not conforming to • the foregoing rules, so far as concerns them,. ■ will be disqualified. 11. The starter may disqualify any boat whose crew will not obey his instructions at time of starting. 12. A preparatory gun will be fired 15 ' minutes before each race, another on the,lowering of the starter's flag, and for each* winning boat. 13.
