Mails per Storm Bird for orthern ports of New Zealand, will close at Christchurch at 1.30 p.m., and Lyttelton at 2.30 p.m., on Thursday, November 5. ENGLISH MAIL VIA FAN ill A. Mails for the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, via Panama, and the Northern p«rts of New Zealand, will close at Chriatchurch at 8.30 a.m., and Lyttelton at 9.30 a.m., on Saturday. November 7th. Letters for Mexico, South America, the Continent of Europe, and other Foreign Countries, must be posted before 7 a.m., •a Saturday, November 7th. Late letters for all the above places can be p*»sted until 10 a.m., on Saturday, November 7th, by the attachment of an extra sixpenny stamp. Newspapers for the above will close at 8 a.n., on Saturday, November 7th. Money orders must be procured at Chriafcchurch, and letters registered before 5 p.m., on Friday, November 6th.
