Tist. schooner Cleopatra arrivedin harbour yegterday j left Auckland on Sept. 9, with sfaong easterly breeze ; passed the North Cajpe at noon next day ; then calms, which Ifetcd two days ; from Cape Maria Van Dio•:ian, moderate S.W. breeze till off Cape I?gmont, when strong S.F>. gale was encountei'Qd, wluch lasted four days -, had then light northerly weather through Cook Straits ; and arrived as above with flfty tons of Bay of Islands coal, for Messrs Brownell and Co. The s.s. Wainui, Captain Bain, arrived in harbour this morning at 5 o'clock from Duneiin via intermediate ports ; left Port Chalinoci at 10 a.m. on Thursday, arriving at Ocular u on Friday ab 5 a.m.; discharged cargo and passengers, and left at 8 p.m. ami arrived ofL" Timaru at 3 a.m. on Saturday ; owing to the thick weather lay ofE and came to an anchorage at 5 a.m. discharged cargo and loft at 7 p.m ; arrived at-Akaroa at 7 a.m. on SuSiday, lay there all day, and left at 10 p.m. ; arriving as above ; experienced light southerly winds during tlie piV'j.-iage, We are obliged to Captain Bain for file?. ■■
