Tho following resolutions wcro passed;—" That this meeting, while conscious of the advantages secured to tho districts of Timaru and Gladstone by the Timaru nnd Gladstone Board of Works Act, begs to suggest that a more developed scheme of local government, applicablo at this time to tho condition of tho provinces and to the circumstances of tho whole colony, as well n» to tho districts that they represent, bo made tho law of tho land.
