WILFUL DAMAGE BY TWO YOUTHS.
’ ■ ""-r" 6 At the local Police Court on Tuesday last, before Messrs J. G Saunders and G. Sweetman, Justices, two youths, Richard Brown and George Fell were charged with wilfuliy damaging property belonging to A. W. Marsh and Hugh Wilkins, farmers, of Pongakawa. Constable Jackson prosecuted.
Accused pleaded guilty. A statement made by Hugh Wilkins to the police was to the effeot that on the 25th Dec. on going to his cowshed in the morning, he found the gate had been taken off its hinges and dragged down the gully, the dairy door was open, all the belting removed from the shed and thrown down the gully. The teat cups and piping were also thrown into the cowyard, and the milk pipes all blocked at the entjls with dirt. The front gate had been taken off and thrown down a drain. Fell was working for him until recently. Mr Marsh’s statement was that on going to his shed on 25th Dec he found his milking machine dismantled and thrown into Wilkins’ paddock. A teat cup and alarm clock were broken, belts taken off the pulleys, parts of his separator buried in cow manure, and kerosene tins buried in casks of skim milk, His mail box and farm gate were thrown into Wilkins’ paddock. The sacks of soil on his ensilage stack had been ripped open, the soil falling to the ground. An attempt had also been made to get into his motor shod. The Bench severely censured accused and inflicted a flue of £§ on each.
